Kaylee is walking so well. I'd say she now prefers to walk instead of crawl. She can stand up without assistance, and is getting much better at traversing through changing surfaces.
Kaylee is eating almost everything ... as long as it is healthy I'll let her eat it. I am determined to feed her quality foods for her first year of life . I am not saying that after she turns 1 I'll be feeding her crap, but I'll be less picky. So Grandma, you can make her jello again and this time I'll let her eat some :).
So Kaylee is eating:
- rotisserie chicken
- chow mein
- veggie fried rice
- jamba juice
- teriyaki chicken
- turkey meatballs
- french toast
- wheat pancakes
- eggs
- cheese
- plain yogurt
- cottage cheese
- many other veggies and fruits
Tasty?
And once she turns one I suppose I'll share with her my milk shakes, frozen yogurt, and many of my other sweet tooth snacks. We'll also be introducing whole milk and cutting back on breast milk. I hope for a smooth transition.
6 teeth! She has 6 beautiful teeth, and has a great grin. I am hesitant to put my finger in her mouth to check her gums for any emerging teeth. But she still enjoys gnawing on things, some okay, some not okay ... like on our shoes.
We've upgraded to the "big girl" carseat. Here she is playing with it. After a ton of research and my mothers help, we ended up with the Britax Boulevard. So far she loves it.
So "cat" is officially the first word. I think "duck" may be her second word. And just yesterday it appeared that she was trying to make a "b" sound for bird. What is up with these animals? Where is mama or dada? But she does sometimes mouth "mama". And she does the funniest thing after she drinks water or if you ask her if she wants some water, "aughh", or if you ask her if she is hungry (she makes a chewing motion with her mouth). And her first ASL sign that she does is "change". Although she understands "milk", she doesn't do it. And she hasn't signed "change" in order to tell me she needs to be changed, she does it when I do it. But she did do it once when she saw her friend getting his diaper changed. I was blown away when she did that, proud too.
Let's see ... what else can I share with you ... Kaylee loves to stack and put tuperware into other containers. She'll squeal with frustration if she can't get things to stack properly, or get the lid on. She loves to take things out of whatever they are in. For instance, laundry ... she is great at taking the clothes out of the basket. And again, will squeal with frustration if an item is too difficult to move, such as Curtis's jeans. She understands that you bring the cell phone up to your ear. Oh, she loves to look at pictures and flip through photo albums. And lately she thinks she possess jedi skills and uses the "force" ... she reaches towards something, someone with such intent and purpose ... like she is using the "force".
I love her, Curtis loves her, we all love her. This has been one crazy year. She is so much fun, so much work, and so exhausting ... but so worth it.
