Birthday Wish List

General Gift Ideas ~

Things that Kaylee loves: airplanes, cars, trucks, balls, bubbles (can't blow them yet), trains, dogs, animals, rain, bugs, anything she can climb, Disney (Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, Tangled), watering the flowers, caterpillars.

Things that Mommy loves: anything that can be used to help Kaylee make those important neural connections, all the while having fun doing it. ... The Learning Tower with Playhouse Kit (costco.com)

Things that Daddy loves: Legos, outdoor sports equipment, Kaylee's learning progress, and gift cards.

More Specific Gift Ideas ~

Clothes:  We kindly request no clothes for her birthday this year.  We understand how much fun it is to shop for clothes.  The issue is that Kaylee has such a large wardrobe it is almost ridiculous.  Save the clothes shopping for Christmas, she will need clothes then.

Wardrobe accessories: belts (to hold up her pants), hair clips, hair clip holder

Books: I want to continue expanding her library, so books are always a great gift. I am interested in a literature based, homeschool preschool curriculum called Before Five In A Row. The concept of the program is to read the same book 5 days in a row, and using the book's theme to lead into a play-based "lesson".  The books are found at the library, but it would be nice to have a few in our library.

Some of the books used in this program are:

ABC Bunny
Angus Lost
Ask Mr. Bear
Big Green Pocketbook
Blueberries for Sal
Caps for Sale
Carrot Seed
Goodnight Moon
I Am an Artist
Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear?
Katy No-Pocket
Little Rabbit
Play With Me
Prayer For a Child
Runaway Bunny
Snowy Day

Craft supplies: felt boards, paint, stickers, construction paper, safety scissors

Legos: Any of the Lego Duplo sets.  Lego Duplo are larger legos than the traditional legos.  We already have all 3 of the Toy Story Duplo sets.

Music:  toy instruments that are durable, but sound good

Outdoor toys:  soccer ball and goals, t-ball set, playhouse, sand box

Some of my favorite stores are: onestepahead.com, toystogrowon.com, lakeshorelearning.com ... see a trend, very educational and preschool type stores.
