It is official, Kaylee did not get the recessive tall gene. Kaylee is 32 inches tall and 21 pounds and 1 ounce, which puts her in the 3% and 9% compared to her female peers. To give you an idea of how petite she is, most 1-year olds are 20 pounds! But, no need to fret, Kaylee is completely healthy and is thriving. The doctor said that a general rule is that if you double the height at 2 years old, that equals how tall they will become. So it is predicted that Kaylee wil be 5'4", an inch shorter than her parents. Our WNBA dreams just flew out of the window! Just kidding :)
Her immunizations are all up to date, her raspberry on her belly is gradually disappearing, and the doctor had no concerns. We will keep her on whole milk, add butter when appropriate; anything to add extra calories in a healthy manner. And it certainly helps that she LOVES ice cream!
