The Willing and Able

Today we spent the last few hours of Jonathan's time before he ships off to boot camp. Technically he is flying off, but I guess the Navy prefers nautical terms. Kaylee seems to understand that Uncle Jonny is joining the Navy, and that he is leaving for boot camp. At the conclusion of the travel meeting, the last meeting before the recruits physically got on bus, when everyone got up to walk out, Kaylee jumps off my lap and starts to run and yell, "Uncle Jonny, wait!". It seemed like she knew her time with him was short and was determined to say good-bye. As we watched the bus leave Kaylee was concerned because, "Uncle Jonny needs to come home". I guess she doesn't get the time concept of how long Jonathan will be away to boot camp.

So our last few hours with Jonathan was spent just hanging out. Kaylee was dressed in red, white, and blue. We look forward to watching Jonathan graduate from boot camp. I know Kaylee will be excited.
