Preschool Day 29

Today was a different day because Daddy took Kaylee to school. Well, actually, we both did but he walked her to class and signed her in. And I forgot to take a picture. But, after the drop off Baylee and I took Curtis to our hiking area. Curtis definitely wants me to have some sort of pepper spray or something. After the hike Curtis got to experience the little time I have left to get anything accomplished, so he was a bit stressed out by my rushed paced. But I got Baylee her flea meds, most of the dishes done, and a shower after a good 36-hours had passed since my last shower. Then back into the car to pick up Kaylee. And since Curtis was taking us out for lunch, I didn't need to dirty up additional dishes to make lunch (best place to feed Kaylee is in the car).

So we did lunch at Costco, went shopping at Costco, and then back home to put away Costco items, and let Kaylee rest before gymnastics.

Off to gymnastics for the final Halloween activity, dress up in your costume for gymnastics class.
We had a teachable moment at gymnastics today. A boy cut Kaylee and she told the instructor. Okay, good, but we stressed that somethings are not worth getting upset over, but yes let the teacher know. Later on a girl tried to cut Kaylee and this time there were words along with physically moving the girl back to her spot behind Kaylee. We were shocked and we just happened to be sitting next to her mom. We apologized and agreed that each were in the wrong and that these are learning moments. Curtis made sure I'd have Kaylee apologize afterwards. Yes, of course. But then it happened 2 more times one after the other. Yes, the girl shouldn't cut but we can't have Kaylee putting her hands on people. So I had a front desk person pull her off the floor for me. We talked, Kaylee apologized, and after class we further explained the incident. We told her that even though the girl was wrong to cut, it will be the person who pushes that will get into trouble. Surprisingly enough 2 different people said good for her (Kaylee) to laying down the law. I want her to stick up for herself but there is a thin line that is difficult to define and explain, especially to a 4-year old.

After gymnastics was date night for Curtis and I. We dropped Kaylee off at the house of our regular play date. The parents of Kyra say it is actually easier having Kaylee there because she and their two girls (4 3/4 and 3 1/2) play so well together. Well, if you ask Kaylee they do disagree about things, but the mom truthfully says that they do great together.  Curtis and I ate at a hamburger place we've been wanting to check out in Old Town Poway. We walked around Old Town Poway, stopped into a cafe shop that was having open mic night. It was a nice evening.
