Wow! Kaylee is an year and a half.
Here are her official stats taken at her 18-month well-baby check-up:
~ Weight 18lbs 8oz (with a full belly and before her morning BM, just can't get over that 20lb mark, but the doctor is not concerned, just as long as she is growing)
~ Height 30.94 inches (almost 31 inches)
~ Head Circumference 18.19 inches
Unofficial stats:
~ size 4 in shoes
~ size 3 in diapers, but its almost time to move up a size
~ 12-month clothes are starting to run small, so 18-month is best
Here is our typical day, if not babysitting:
~ Wake up between 7 and 8am
~ Bring her into our bed and cuddle while she continues to wake up
~ Eating breakfast 15 minutes after she wakes up, she is always hungry first thing when she wakes up
~ Breakfast is either a bowl of cereal, pancakes and egg, or egg and yogurt. She takes breakfast seriously and often has 2 servings. I give her milk when she is done unless she requests a drink while she is still eating.
~ Play with something while Mommy cleans up (which gets done about half of the time), and possibly watch a video so I can get ready if we are going to leave the house.
~ Snack, and always have a snack ready when driving in the car.
~ Lunch by noon if she isn't asleep
~ Nap, if not induced by the car, will occur sometime between noon and 2
~ A good nap is a solid 2 hours
~ Up from nap, she'll want to eat
~ Eat, then play outside and wait for Daddy to get home
~ Now that it is basketball season we (Kaylee and I) often go out and entertain ourselves at a store (play with toys and not buy them; read all the books at the book store and put them back), or we'll be headed off to the home basketball games.
When we do babysit we are usually out the door by 6:30am and Kaylee is still asleep. She'll wake up as soon as I arrive to the Williams' house, and is usually greeted by A & A. The kids play great together, but there are still times when Kaylee wants just me to play with her. If I tell her that I can't she gets mad, but it is good for her to have to "share" me.
New things:
~ Takes a blanket and wraps up a doll or stuffed toy like a burrito, she'll gently pat it and then pick it up and carry it around
~ extreme mommy separation anxiety
~ requests music while driving in the car and she calls it dance
~ starting to hit for no apparent reason, working hard at eliminating that!
~ requests that you sit next to her by tapping on the ground next to her
~ used 2 signs together, such as 'more' 'please'. Now I'd like her to start saying at least two words together.
~ started the first DVD/book/flash cards early language development system called "Your Baby Can Read!", borrowing it from a friend. We'll see how it goes. So far I like it better than having Elmo on, and Kaylee enjoys the book and flash cards.
*** Your Baby Can Read Update ***
I believe that she is starting to recognize the words and can "read" them. She does try to say them, and can perform the action.
