Exploring San Diego Beaches:
A bit of a drive to get to this beach, it is the most southern San Diego beach we have gone to so far. Plenty of parking that you pay for but it seems that during the off-season you can get away without paying. The walk from the car to your beach spot is very short, which is nice when you are towing a 3-year old, a cooler, beach towels, a chair, umbrella, and the sand castle building toys. Bathrooms were the best I've seen to date. Lifeguards present and a long beach to explore. While we were there it felt we were the only ones there. The surf was nice and there were lots of perfect little sea shells. Sand was sand castle approved and there were plenty of perfect little sea shells. There is access to trails and the bayside of the Silver Strand from this beach, so more exploring is needed. And possibly a great running location.
The downside to this beach was the bug activity. There were little beetle like bugs that got a tad annoying and tend to get into our bags.
This is the beach that Kaylee watched her first sunset.
