So about poo ...

This blog IS titled "Adventures with Kaylee ... Our way to Share the Love, Laughs, and Poop". But not to worry, I won't go into graphic detail of Ms. Kaylee's bowel movements. However, I will state that BM's or lack of BM's helps me determine if there is any adverse reaction to new foods, if her crankiness is digestive-related, or if I need to put some prunes on the menu.

In regards to introducing new foods, everything seems to be okay. We started her with the typical rice at about 5-months, then we moved to oatmeal which she likes better. At around 6-months we started to introduce the veggies. I am making most of baby food since it allows more control of what she eat, is cost effective, and I get to use my super food processor! The first baby food that I made were peas. She didn't mind them but they are still not a favorite. Next were green beans. Same thing, she didn't mind but they were not a favorite. In order to get her to eat a decent amount of peas and green beans I started to mix them in with the oatmeal. Then I introduced plain yogurt, and then I started to mix peas/green beans with yogurt ... doesn't that sound yummy! Well she ate it and that is what matters. Here is a list of what she has had to date:

Rice
Oatmeal
Peas
Green Beans
Yogurt
Yellow Squash
Zucchini
Sweet Potatoes
Prunes
Apples
Butternut Squash
Peaches
Blueberries
Bananas
Avocado
Carrots
Tofu
Yogurt Melts (by Gerber)
Wagon Wheels (by Gerber)
Variety of teething biscuits

Kaylee is now in the messy self-feeding stage. Firm tofu is perfect for self-feeding. We also have bananas, avocado, steamed zucchini, and a variety of Gerber dissolving foods. I even gave her a stale bisquit the other day. We have so much more food to try ... and poopy diapers to change!
