So before the power went out yesterday, Kaylee and I spent the day potty training. It was not a planned event. When she woke up yesterday I noticed her diaper was drier than usual. So I told her lets go sit on the potty, and she refused. She demanded a diaper. Right then I decided that today was the day because I don't want her to prefer peeing in a diaper. So I gave her two choices of underwear, a regular pair with Minnie Mouse on it, or a padded cloth type of underwear that looks like a pull-up diaper. She chose the padded cloth underwear. Five accidents later she ended up bare bottomed playing with her trains with the potty in the same room. I am in the kitchen and I hear her yelling. It takes me a second to remember that she is bare bottomed and I hear her saying, "I peed! I peed!". I run in and I find her on the potty with a large amount of urine in her potty chair. There was a small trail of urine but she knew what was happening and she knew where she had to do it. I was so proud, and so was she.
We called Daddy and she left him a great message telling him of her accomplishment. The next person she wanted to call was her friend Austin (Jenn's son who is the same age). It was definitely an exciting moment. Then the power went out and as darkness fell we opted for safety and ease of cleaning, so we put a diaper on her. But the next morning, right after she woke up, she peed in the potty again. Hurray!
