Potty Training Day #2

The second day of potty training started off well.  She peed in the potty after she awoke, and insisted to put on underwear.  While she was sitting on the potty she was looking at a Thomas the Train advertisement and said that she wanted to buy Thomas.  I came up with a potty incentive.  In one of her potty books is a potty success chart.  She had to use the potty, flush the toilet, and wash her hands 4 times in order to earn a Thomas the Train.  I asked her if she was willing to do that and she gave me the most affirmative yes, with a nod.  So any pee in the potty would earn her a star, even with a trail or wet underwear.

We were to spend the day at the Williams household, and of course, we were a little uneasy about traveling without a diaper on but I didn't want to miss the opportunity of Kaylee making the effort to stay dry.  I did put a piddle pad under her (which she was not happy with, almost like she is offended that I offer her such a thing).  So I brought a handful of underwear, her potty, and her potty book with the potty success chart.  While at the Williams' Kaylee made it to the potty 3 times + a trail or wet underwear.  But Adeline, Jenn's 4-year old daughter, was an amazing cheerleader.  She was right there with Kaylee every time.  Adeline would sit next to her and read books, and when she used the toilet, she would explain to Kaylee what she was doing (potty, flush the toilet, wash her hands).  And Kaylee filled up her potty success chart, so we owe her a Thomas (going today after Curtis gets home from basketball).

At the end of the day we were out of underwear so diaper it was.  But once she was awake she wanted her underwear again.  At bedtime it was diapers again.  She did her BM in the diaper late that night.  A BM in the toilet is yet to happen.  Maybe today (day #3) is our lucky day.
