4th Birthday Party!

Gymnastics birthday party!!!!

A wonderful time was held by all at Kaylee's 4th birthday party on Saturday. Even the family and friends (the adults) who had to view the festivities from the upstairs viewing area had a great time. Curtis and I got to be on the floor to video tape and photograph the whole event.

The party started with some silly parachute warm up games. An obstacle course was next. The highlight of the party, and Kaylee's favorite part, was the bungee swings. In gymnastics class Kaylee has seen other gymnasts use the bungee swings and has always wanted to do it. So it was a perfect birthday treat for her. Kaylee was almost fearless on the bungee swings. She even attempted and then successfully did a back flip while strapped into the bungee swing. I was shocked, a little freaked out, and proud of her all at the same time. I looked around to the coaches wondering if the flipping was an approved activity. They came over and spotted her for the rest of her flip attempts. Then they raised the bungee swing so they can no longer touch the floor and bungee apparatus became a giant swing.

After the fun bungee swings they did the foam pit swing, and foam pit jump from the trampoline track. They moved to a second trampoline track where they jumped up against a wedge pad. They ended with a group photo then headed upstairs to the cake.

Cake and juice were served. The happy birthday song was sung and Kaylee did a great job of not hiding or covering her ears. We did coach her beforehand on how she is suppose to act when people sing the birthday song. Lastly, Kaylee signed the wall. She wrote her name all by herself. Good thing Curtis has been working on it with her. We were very proud of her.

After cake we headed downstairs, handed out favors, and walked out the door at exactly the end time of our party. Gyminny Kids sure know how to stay on schedule. Almost everyone headed to the after party held at our house where we served pizza and salad. Kaylee and her friends played. Curtis, Sean, and my Dad jammed out. Sean played on Kaylee's drum set she got from Christmas. We had our traditional Nerf dart gun fight against our cousins. Kaylee eventually opened presents and slowly everyone left. Kaylee was exhausted but still put up a fight at bedtime. Soon she was sound asleep, in our bed, because according to her she isn't 4 until Tuesday. For those who may be unaware, but Kaylee has agreed to sleep in her own bed when she turns 4.

Here are some picture taken on a phone. More pictures will be posted later, and videos will be on YouTube. Thank you for everyone who joined us and those who joined in spirit. Kaylee was so excited to share gymnastics with her friends. Who knows, maybe we have a future gymnast on our hands.
