What she does need are big ticket items. Such as, she needs a new bed. Okay, honestly, I need her to get a new bed. I am about done with sitting on the floor with her while she tosses and turns, and complains about how uncomfortable her bed is. All while I *itch and moan about how uncomfortable my butt and back are from sitting on the ground next to her uncomfortable crib bed.
She also needs experiences. We have gymnastics covered, and my grandparents have swimming covered. But what will she be interested next, or should I say what will her parents feel is an important activity to get involved in. We just signed Kaylee up for a Summer Reading Program. It is a 5-week class that meets on Tuesdays from 9:45am-11am, starting July 23 and ends August 20. It ends the week before Kaylee starts preschool. We thought that it would: A- prepare our nocturnal child and her parents and B- introduce Kaylee into a classroom setting with other students and a teacher. Kaylee's BFF Austin and his mother will be joining Kaylee and I in the class. The parents attend the class along with the 4-year olds. And we even have homework!
So toys and clothes are always nice. And if you ever went shopping with Kaylee you would be surprised on how little stuff she actually wants. And if you saw our house you'd see how much she actually has. At times you have to convince her that she could use something in order to buy it for her. Which can be frustrating at times, but truthfully it is a blessing because we don't have to buy her something every time we go to a store.
